A replica of a late 19th century lake schooner, this 137' 3-masted schooner was built on the shores of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee in 2001.
The S/V Denis Sullivan, a 137-foot re-creation of a three-masted, 19th century Great Lakes schooner, is owned and operated by Pier Wisconsin.The S/V Denis Sullivan is also a modern educational sailing vessel with two 180 hp diesel engines, a scientific laboratory, two computer workstations and modern communication and navigation equipment. She maintains single bunks in co-ed areas, shared toilets (heads) and showers, and limited storage. The vessel can carry up to 18 passengers overnight and 50 passengers on a day sails. She is complemented with 10 professional crew and educators.
Today, the S/V Denis Sullivan celebrates the spirit of adventure exemplified by the tall ships of the past, the brave men and women who sailed them, and their combined contributions to the development of our region.
